Set Hair Object/Dynamics/Properties/Rest Mix or Rest Hold to 100 …or Generate poly hair and do a Current State to Object with that (but you’d have to re-texture it)

Hair/light interaction is controlled elsewhere since it’s a post effect. Either add lights to Render Settings/Effects/Hair Render/Lights – Exclude or add a Light tag (right-click on the light choose Hair Tags/Light) to the light(s) you want to exclude and uncheck Include.

enable Multi-Pass Rendering in Render Settings and make sure one of your channel selections (or the only one) is Post Effects. Save it to psd file or as separate channels…

before you use the Current State to Object go into the Text spline you used and check off Separate Letters – assuming you used the Text spline…

For 9.. there is a Bridge Tool in C4D that does the same thing

click on the icon in the upper left corner (that’s lit) under the word file, in the menu that pops up change the bottom choice from User Menu 1 to Cinema 4D Menu

quickest thing I can think of at this time in the morning is to use Alpha instead of Transparency

Probably turned off Record/Position either from the Record menu or with the timeline icon (four arrows in a cross – looks like the Move Tool icon but down on the lower right…)
