    Hi Folks,

I now have 3 states of my brain model and following on form help earlier this week I’m now rendering out the finished models. However there’s a problem (isn’t there always!?)

When I render the models that have transparency applied to them and they brain model is set to occlude the arteries (veins) then I get a nasty looking anti-aliased edge …YUK!

Is there a way to get lovely smooth lines again?! I’ve had a look round the settings and so far I’ve not found any obvious solutions. So please show me the way you lovely learned folk!

Here’s a pic to show what the heck Im rambling about.

    Yours,
    Matt

quickest thing I can think of at this time in the morning is to use Alpha instead of Transparency

Trivial I know but you do have antialiasing set to best in the renderer?

Yes, that’s it. Default “geometry” AA does not work through transparency.

Oh dear, I feel a little foolish now.

As the setting was ‘geometry’ in the first render (and it worked) I left it unchanged it in the following render. Anyway I have set it to best and it works now. Sometimes it’s the simple answers. I went looking for something more complicated, that’ll teach me.

    So, in summary.

    Me, stoopid.
    You guys, great.

    Many thanks.

    Matthew.

Don’t feel bad — we’ve all done it. That’s how we know. 😉
