Picture? Can you post the scene? What version of C4D (GI changed somewhat between 10.5 and 11.5)?

looks like an aliasing problem against the white(r) cloud only since there are a lot of roof edges at the same angle that don’t have the same problem. I’m guessing it’s going to require a change to the antialiasing settings but I don’t know what exactly.

Subdivided for Intermediate Points is giving you way more points than you need in the filmstrip spline vertically and **way** too many horizontally (since you don’t need any subdivision that direction). Try Uniform 5 instead.

I was able to break a test by making the helix exactly the right size, try making it’s start and end radius just a bit larger or smaller or the square a bit smaller or larger.

uncheck High Quality in the Boole, it will slow it down but it will work the way you expect.

another possibility is to use visible lights with noise in the visibility.

what are you using for Integration Method in the Solver/Main tab and what Collision settings are you using?

  • you can have any number of cameras so there is a system to tell C4D which camera you want to use right now. Either go to the viewport Camera menu and choose the Editor Camera or whichever camera you want from the Scene Cameras list or (easier) click on the little ‘target reticule’ to the right of the 3 dots (the layer dot and the two Visible in Editor/Visible in Renderer dots) beside the camera in the Object Manager

January 7, 2010 at 4:44 am in reply to: WHY are my textures sliding?!

It’s because you animated the spline and not the Extrude containing it but the texture is attached to the Extrude, so the spline moves through the texture space (which it’s getting from the Extrude) and the texture slides.
Try clicking on any one of the texture tags and use the Texture Tool or the Texture Axis tool. You will see the relevant letter move into the texture ‘cube’ over the first 85 frames or so, now try putting the texture on the spline and now the texture space should move with the letter.
The problem is that won’t texture the letter correctly so I think you have to redo by animating the Extrude and not the spline in it. Making it editable would solve the texture space thing as well but that breaks the way you animated so that won’t work.

You have to switch into the Point Tool mode so you can work with (and see) the points
