  • There should be something visible after you drop the spline in the ExtrudeNurb – it might not be right depending whether splines are closed etc.

…unless your logo came in as a bunch of separate splines or a bunch of splines in a null, then you would have to check off Hierarchical in the Extrude’s settings to get them to show.

double clicking (or right-click/left-click) on an axis handle will lock that handle (it stays yellow – default colors anyway). Double click the handle to release

February 28, 2010 at 5:37 pm in reply to: HOW to disable the GRID ?

You can turn the grid on and off there just isn’t a shortcut for it. The most direct way is the Filter menu on the view window where you want to turn it off. If you click on the Filter menu one of the choices is Grid enable or disable there.
If you want to add it to your HUD you need to go to the Filter menu’s actual home in the Edit/Configure menu of the view window, the Viewport info will appear in the Attribute Manager on the right, in there go to the Filter tab you will see the same choices as were in the Filter menu, this deeper menu is harder to get to than the Filter menu but it does have the nice feature that you can drag any of the values there into the view window, click on the word Grid and drag it into the view window. The button this makes will give you control over the grid. Most values in the Attribute Manager can be added to the Hud in this way.

Have you changed the Texture Tag’s Projection setting? (you might want to check out the Help’s Texture Tag: Tag Properties section, it has some good pictures of the projection settings and what they do)

Can’t tell if it’s what you are looking for but there is Melt in the functions menu. It does not actually reduce the number of polygons (internally) it just makes the object simpler by making selected-connected polygons into an NGon

drop the letter in a Null so the null is where you want the letter to rotate around and rotate the null.

It may actually be possible. Check it out. The blue texture is just a base for visibility in this test, the red and green are the textures I’m interested in. Both are set as Flat/Front but I used the Texture Axis tool to rotate the green one around 180°. Assuming I’m not just faking myself out…

February 19, 2010 at 3:23 am in reply to: Point control using XPresso – or something else

without seeing the box it’s hard to know but you’re getting repeating growth since xPresso is meant to be calculated every frame in animation or on every change (your clicks) if in a single frame. Either move the inside of the box in response to the outside (or the other way – depending on where you’re measuring) or use a null for each side you want to move and move the walls in response to those. Which is going to be better is going to depend on how complex the package is. Can’t tell if either is even workable without seeing it.
