Here is my problem, I have a standard model that is used for various pill packaging dummies. The model is relatively detailed for being just a box – it has to be rendered fairly hi-res for print use – so there are numerous bevels and wall thickness for the paper used in the packaging.

Until now, whenever I need for a new size, I would just do the math and move various point group selections to new coordinates, because scaling is out of the question do to the details.

What I am wondering is, can this resizing be done using XPresso (or something else my brain is not working properly right now). I have tried using iterations in XPresso to move all the points in a selection a given amount – i.e. 100 units along X – but I run into a problem that every time I click on anything it performs the resize on the new X-coordinates so the X gets bigger and bigger.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated – especially if there is a simple solution that I just can’t imagine right now (can’t see the forest for the trees syndrome).

without seeing the box it’s hard to know but you’re getting repeating growth since xPresso is meant to be calculated every frame in animation or on every change (your clicks) if in a single frame. Either move the inside of the box in response to the outside (or the other way – depending on where you’re measuring) or use a null for each side you want to move and move the walls in response to those. Which is going to be better is going to depend on how complex the package is. Can’t tell if either is even workable without seeing it.
