  • Ahh I understand, I don’t know if it can be done directly (passing the output of a camera to a texture) if that is true it makes sense since it would be a double render anyway. I’d be thinking once from the POV camera and once from the “main” cam with the POV cam render used as a texture. Or render twice and combine in post…

it looks like you would want to model it differently. Instead of (what appears to be) extruding an outline you’d probably want to use HyperNurbs (subdivision surfaces). It’s a lot easier to make the curved surfaces you need with just a simple control cage. Here’s a quick trial I did of part of the stock. If you don’t have much practice with them this is not a bad place to start.

Without seeing the scene file it’s hard to tell. Perhaps the scale of the scene means you will have to adjust the Sample Distance in the Light’s Visibility tab but that may not be it. What are you using in the Alpha channel? Noise? Image?

at least a couple ways to do that with a movie or with a still image if you use the right mapping and move it with the texture axis tools. With the still image the Offset in the texture can be animated, with the movie texture it just needs to be lined up correctly. Not the only way to do it.

Functions/Subdivide or are you talking about something more complex?

A texture with an image (or animation) in a layer with a Fresnel in the Color and Luminance channels should give you something like the angle of view change. Fresnel set to Multiply in the Luminance and Screen on the Color channel. Maybe something like this (probably not right but hopefully something to work with). 760_screentest.zip
The soft lighting can be done with GI (since the texture has luminance) or you can fake it with a light behind the screen that shines out onto the surroundings.
