That’s not a problem as far as the track goes. Just copy the track off the cd to your harddrive. Drag from harddrive into a bin or directly into the timeline. Works great. No problem that the video is 48.
Should sync fairly well with the CD playback. Especially with a music video where you only sync on for a second or two. Unless you’re trying to match up cameras and do a live switch. Then probably not since every cd player could be a little different and expect some drift.

Use the shape generator and create a square. Use the square as an alpha matte for the color footage. Then just move the square around.

You’re trying to insert edit from the timeline to the deck. Edit to tape works from the viewer to the tape. You’re probably trying to edit a slug onto the tape. Put the sequence in the viewer.
Do a preview first just like the good ol tape editing days.

All my software is registered and I’ve never once had a single manufacturer send me anything but spam. No notices of updates. Definitely not from Apple. Updates for Apple software are automatic via the software update panel on your computer. Not via email notices.
The only reason I see to register is they force you to or it will keep giving you that damn screen.

Also, you don’t have to mess with all that. Press ctrl+q and choose the DV easy setup. Then create a new sequence.

Well it’s not Mpeg2, that’s for DVD. Mpeg1 is fine and pretty safe to use. Or Sorensen3. If they have QT7 on the playback machine h.264 is great.

Put the file in a folder and copy that. Stufit and copy that. Just try some stuff.

If you look at the BF test that he linked to, you’ll see the new machines are actually slower GHZ for GHZ thatn the Quad G5. Go figure. But we’ve already had this thread.
