    Awesome!
    Thanks, man.
    That did it.

That does work and I have done that before.
What I forgot to mention in my original post is that I am trying to get all of my multi-pass renders done in a single render.
If I leave the floor on and hit compositing background, then I have to do two renders in order get all of the proper elements in place for my compositing program.
In other words, I have to render the entier scene once for shadows, with the floor on, then render the whole thing over again, with the floor off and just my 3D objects in the shot.

The real problem I am dealing with is that I am using the objects in my scene as ridged bodies and the dynamics engin is giving me slightly different results every time I am a render, so it is critical that I render everything at once.

    Nevermind.
    Got it.

    11.5
    Sorry, forgot to mention that.
I know the dynamics act differently in version 12.

I also tried this but ridged body does not work with non-MoGraph primitives.
It just makes whatever non-MoGraph primitive you are trying use a static object, as if it were a floor or some other fixed part of your scene. And if I do that, the object then has no inertia.

Suck between a rock and a hard place.

I tried that and what happens is the translate arrows move in the path that I keyframed, but the object that I am trying to throw, which is within my actual Cloner Object, does not move.

    cool.
    that worked.
    thanks!

why is that you have to place the primitive in a cloner object for it to work?
    seems strange to me.

Ok, I did get the alpha to work, by importing the HUD once again via the “alpha” in the material that I am using, but now the color I want is not coming through. The original design is a light blue and it is showing up as light grey in Cinema.

    Ok, cool.
I will try that and let you know what comes of it!
