If the cookie cutter had control of width and height when set to alpha
it would be perfect. Pan Crop is already in use in this layer and seems to be tied to the alpha mask so I can’t use the Alpha Mask.I figured out if I render my animations in more layers I don’t need the cookie cutter. Was just trying to save the extra work.
Thanks

Thanks. Problem is I’m already using pan crop on this layer and I don’t want the alpha mask that size.

Are you using Vimeo Pro or free? I believe quality is lower on the free version.

August 16, 2013 at 7:02 am in reply to: Sony Vegas Cant Handle Even The Poorest Quality Of VideoBe sure your project settings match your media.
I switch back between 1920, and 1440 all the time and if I forget and don’t change my project settings it slows down vegas as it attempts to convert on the fly. Every time you changed your media did you change project settings to match?
From what I see this isn’t a Vegas issue. Google “premiere AVCHD” and you will see many complaints, I believe Final Cut still requires file conversion to edit. Vegas has the added advantage to work with native files if your computer can handle it. If not you are forced to use the options that other editors use, prerender, drop preview quality, or convert media. My computer does pretty well if I match project settings to media type.
Hope this helps.

Nice. I haven’t needed it yet but nice to know it’s there.
Thanks

Flat panel monitors ( especially LCD ) can have considerable delay.
When using the audio and video inputs to the monitor, the monitor can compensate by delaying the audio to match the video delay.
You best bet is to see if there is an audio OUTPUT on your monitor, feed that into you audio system. This isn’t a vegas issue, I can’t use the analog audio outs on my DVD player while watching a blue ray on my Plasma, even then I need to listen to my TV output.

Cranking up ram preview slow down your system. I’d say leave that at 256 and turn off GPU. If the GPU isn’t faster then your cpu it slows down the system. Also what are your hard drives? 7200 rpm? and not the system drive? I have 3 sata two for playback one to render to.
I have a similar system to yours and Vegas works fine on mine. It’s a stock gateway i7 8 gig’s of ram. When I’mjust doing cuts and dissolves and titles I can leave preview in best full. I’m editing HDV footage. It could be your drives, it could be the codec of your video, but I don’t think Vegas is the problem.

I would check your project settings. If they don’t match the media it slows Vegas down. Most likely 12 opens in HD and 8 didn’t

The .png file I get is a dead match for the hdv footage I’m viewing.
I use it for still frames and never see a difference.i7 2600 3.4 Ghz 8Gig Ram , Win 7 Pro, Vegas Pro 12
