There are many choices for various purposes. But the first few steps would be the same:
Park the cursor on the frame you want to export.
Then:Step 1: File> Export> Using QuickTime Conversion… “Save” window appears
Step 2: Format> Still Image
Step 3: Options… > Format: (choose PNG, PICT, JPEG, Photoshop etc.) > OK
Step 4: Name your image, Set location (disk, folder, desktop) for your new still. > Save -
If this is DV, just use any DV camcorder connected via FireWire to the Mac.
Connect the A/V output from the camcorder to the inputs of any video monitor.
The camcorder (in the “VTR” mode) will instantly convert the FW out from the Mac into A/V signals for the monitor.You can use any camcorder (an inexpensive “home video” unit will work perfectly.)
It will also work as a full-quality DV “deck” for capture and dub-out as well.I have found many great home video DV camcorders at Pawn Shops for under $100 USD.

The first thing to always try is to Quit FCP, Restart the Mac, Open your FCP project and try again.

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).

You’ll need to make arrangements with the client to either make an exception for your tapes, or send your project to another production house (possibly in another city) to have that house create a tape with the proper number of audio channels.
The UVW 1800 lacks the internal electronics and does not have the proper number of heads to record AFM audio on CH 3 & 4.

When the web page is designed, you can make the playback window a “hot button”.
In addition, you could offer a set of “control buttons” below the playback window with choices of “Next” “Back” “Pause” “Start”… and the like.
It would give the web users more and consistent control of the playback.

I assume you mean JVC. An S-VHS/DV combo deck.
These combo JVC decks are notoriously poor choices and virtually incompatible for working with FW editors like FCP.
Better to just use ANY DV camcorder instead. Even a used home video camcorder will work perfectly for FCP…
but NOT these JVC clunkers.Others report that they can get SOME of them to work SOME of the time.

When the timeline is stopped, the image will “dance” (jitter) if you have stopped on a frame with some motion in it, because the the video interlace.
Is that what you mean by “strobe”?
