No “one-button” solution to this, as you suspected.

You can edit the “Iso shot” with audio onto any one track, then “Shift-Option-Drag” that audio clip to any other track as well.

That will duplicate the clip, leave it where it is,
and move a copy of it to the track you drag it to.
If you need it on even MORE tracks, just repeat the procedure.

Buy some short (3 to 6 foot) adapter CABLES that have the proper ends to accept the 1/4″ input from the mic on one end and have an 1/8″ plug on the other. The cables should “clear” on the camera just fine.

You really can’t do this via switches or cabling, as the camera’s are not designed to accept external TC.

But there is a way to make it easier in the edit to sync one camera’s footage to the other.

Run a video monitor from the output of one camera (A) and place the monitor near the 2nd camera (B).
Make sure A is set to feed its TC display out to the monitor.

Start recording on A and shoot a few seconds of A’s monitor with Cam B at the beginning of a “take”.

Then in the edit, capture both cameras footage, and slide B’s footage until the TC seen on its recording of the monitor matches A’s TC.

You’d need to do this “shoot the monitor” every time either camera was stopped and re-started.

There is another method that requires starting both cameras with the same remote control, but its generally not practical and is less reliable than the “shoot the monitor” trick (which is virtually fool-proof if you remember to do it every time a camera is re-started.

Depends on the brand of the burner.

My first DVD set-top box took up to 35 MINUTES!!! to finalize a :30 spot dub to DVD.

I now own 3 “Lite-On” brand cheapies ($89-$99 FULL PRICE at Best Buy) that finalize most discs in about 90 SECONDS!

Create a Photoshop image (matte) of a shutter.

Make it rather large (2160 pixels x 1620 pixels, or so) with a smallish “hole” (alpha channel) in the center.

Then “zoom” it out (looking thru the hole) and back in on an upper video track
and add SFX of motor-drive and/or click.

The large size will hold up better when you “zoom in” tight.
You can even rotate the image a bit as you zoom.

I never use the “legacy” Title generators in FCP.

I suggest that you use “Title 3D” (by Boris) that is included with the FCP install disc.

It should be one of your Title choices inside FCP.

Title 3D can use both Type 2 (TrueType) and Type 1 (PostScript) fonts.

You must make sure that you have all of the ‘faces’ files (bold, italic, etc.) of a font when using a Type 1 font.
