Export to XDcam en rip the exported file from the disk?

I don’t know the answer either, but if the metadata is in the files, it can be extracted. Perhaps not by FCP, but at least trough a few other tricks.
Do send me an example file, i’d like to have a look.

I’ve seen SSD in action on one computer, and it’s blazing fast…
My main concern would be the lifespan of the drive.
Solid state has a limited amount of read/write operations.
So in all cases i would make a backup of the project files on another disk / stick.
(and there is the cost, but that is math you have to do yourself)Bouke

This has come up a lot of times lately, do read back / search.
Most used trick is to change the sample rate of the sound, so it will play back .1 % slower. This will cause a small pitch shift, but requires no render, meaning no quality loss.
QTchange can do so for you (export QT to BWF with speed change)

audio does not have a framerate, it has a sample rate defining the smallest element, but that’s unimportant.
Both should run at the same speed.
So no conversion needed whatsoever, it should sync as it is.Did you try this already? If so, and it did not work, what are your problems?

Adrenaline works fine in HD as long as you stay in DNxHD.
(that is, if you have the HD board)
If you use XDcam imports, you’re limited to playback half quality.
(good enough for offline though…)
It also has all the connectors you like, including LTC in/out.Since you’re on a budget, totally forget about uncompressed HD.
What on earth would you need that for?
Uncompressed HD is for very high end movies.
Normal people shoot / edit / deliver compressed.
(and that goes for broadcasters as well. Even George Lucas shoots compressed…reminds me, do you still have my board?

to top that,
NEVER EVER have two files with the same name in different folders.
Although it ‘should’ be possible, it ‘could’ go wrong.FCP links based on filename and location. After that it links on TC / Reel.
If no matching TC is found, it links relative to the start, expecting things to match.Now am i right you have the same filenames in different folders?

Ah, now i get it…
Japanese people who watch the movie with mainly english subs will NEVER EVER look at the subs.
So even if you put in the single word, they will not notice it.
You translate for just one language.
(well, in Belgium they sometimes translate to both French and Dutch at the same time, but that is very, very rare…)So, either forget about it, (as you stated people get it by context anyway), or add a second subtitle track. (if it’s for DVD or internet, that’s easy)
