Thanks.
(already found it out yesterday after dinner, in the previous posts, but IE crashed on sent, taking the whole damn machine down…)This is enough for me not to use PP, i have 20 hours of footage to edit in one week by a non-editor. This is impossible as it is, and certainly not gonna happen with such a clunky interface.
(Probably client wants me to fix his edit afterwards, and i like to keep sane for at least a few years more)I really like the responsiveness of PP compared to Avid XpressDV, but this stupid little “feature” has made me decide to not use PP for normal editing. It’s just too much of a hassle.
Who thought of this in a “pro” package? I could understand it from a consumer point of view, but, i’m 17 years in this business and i’ve yet to see a field tape with stereo audio. (Of course even MS is impossible this way)

Tip:
if you have lot’s of audio splits, use something like TEP to convert the EDL to a batch list, VA1A2 selected. This will make a VA1A2 list from all clips. Now, select both your timeline and program and then dig.Since M100 is so smart to know what is double, it will only capture once.
Otherwise the deck has to go over every clip with an audio split twice, making the digging doulble as long.Of course you have slightly too much video on your drives, but who cares…

Now from here it’s easy to convert them to a .ale file.
I assume you know the routine, but just in case, an ALE should look like thisHeading

hint: this only works if the tc on top of the window is set correctly…

basics:
16:9 in SD is squeezed material so it fills the 4:3 frame. It is supposed to be stretched by the monitor.
If you put it onto a DVD with the correct flag set, 16:9 monitors will automaticly swithch to full frame, 4:3 sets will letterbox (if they are not too old)hth

I don’t see chroma key. I see a women shot against a white background with some anims keyed next to her.
Easy to extend the bg with a still, easy to put anims over it…What’s the problem?
