I have a 16:9 sequence that was built in Avid xpress Pro 4.5, 23.976 NTSC. When I export the sequence to miniDV it converts to a 4:3 ratio. Can you please let me know how i can keep the 16:9 ratio. Would exporting to a High def format be the only way to keep the 16:9 ratio?
    Thank you

    basics:
16:9 in SD is squeezed material so it fills the 4:3 frame. It is supposed to be stretched by the monitor.
If you put it onto a DVD with the correct flag set, 16:9 monitors will automaticly swithch to full frame, 4:3 sets will letterbox (if they are not too old)

    Thank you,
Are there settings within avid xpress pro to export the 16:9 to 4:3 letterbox, or is that something i need to do with a separate program. I did a qt ref. export to standard 4:3 it looks OK but I rather have the 4:3 with letterbox.
    thanks again.
