  • getting bins out of Media 100i into a Media Composer

Anyone out there have any experience in taking a project from a media 100i system into an avid media composer 11.2.6 running on Mac os9.2. Is there a way to export bins that have bin created in media 100i so that I can import and redig the material on the media composer? Thanks for your help.

Set your bins in list view, select all and copy, paste in a text editor.
Now from here it’s easy to convert them to a .ale file.
I assume you know the routine, but just in case, an ALE should look like this

    Heading
    FIELD_DELIM TABS
    VIDEO_FORMAT PAL
    AUDIO_FORMAT 48khz
    FPS 25

    Column
Name Start End Tape Tracks Scene Customname1 Customname2

    Data
1 17:15:38:16 17:15:58:18 GVL17 VA1A2 Chantilly totaal bib met td en licht uit?
    2 17:16:38:02 17:16:50:15 GVL17 VA1A2 Chantilly binneplaats pan

    or, alternative,

    Heading
    FIELD_DELIM TABS
    VIDEO_FORMAT PAL
    AUDIO_FORMAT 48khz
    TAPE myTape01
    FPS 25

Mind you, M100 DOES NOT store sequences in bins. They are stored seperate. If you want to redig a sequence you must go trough an EDL.
