I’m guessing that you wish to set different extrusion depth to each contour to make them stand out. That would not be possible with BCC 3D Objects at the moment but is easy with Boris Blue (as an AE plugin). If you send me your EPS sample (boris@borisfx.com) I’d take a look.

I’m happy to report that the problem with FCS3 has been resolved and and a new installer has been posted on our website. Both FCS2 and FCS3 have been tested and perform as expected. Enjoy!

Your BCC 5 as well as RED should be fine. I’m not aware of any problems with older products. It’s the cutting edge that always hurts.

Unfortunately, 3D objects remain accessible on Intel Macs only. PPC macs usually lack the graphics processing power as compared to newer Intel machines. Considering that all 3D extrusion and rendering is done on the graphics card, PPC macs are not the best choice of platfor for these newer, cutting edge 3D effects. I hate to disappoint some of our customers but the odds of pulling something as compute intensive as 3D extrusions are not in our favour.

As we continue testing the final, released version of FCS3 I can share with you that most BCC 6 filters work as expected in the new release by Apple with the exception of Boris Continuum Shaders (BCS). These filters are unique to Apple FxPlug and require special treatment. The Chromakey Studio filter is one of BCS filters. We are working on a free update that will repair all know problems. In the meantime you can fall back on the BCC Chromakey, BCC Film Process, etc. We apologize for inconvenience.

I assume that you are on Windows. The most recent Boris FX installer supports CS. If you are using Premiere make sure to update Premiere to v4.1 If you continue to have a problem please contact our support at 888-77-BORIS

No, this may be an indication of some sort of installation mishap. Our installers place “shader” files on your system and it seems that the shader #19 for some reason can not be found by the plugin. It could be a registry problem or a problem of some files or directories moved around. Can you try to uninstall and re-install BCC? If that does not work contact our tech support

I think first you need to add a Category and then generate thumbnails for each font on your system. To create a new category use one of the buttons under Category popup. I hope tooltips will help you navigate that panel. Multiple categories of fonts can be custom saved in the style palette. This tip applies to all Boris text products: Calligraphy on Final Cut, Title Toolkit in Adobe, RED, Blue, Graffiti, etc.

These types of issues are better dealt with via our customer support lines which you are as the owner of Boris Red 4 is perfectly entitled to. To open a support case please email to support@borisfx.com or telephone at 1-888-77-BORIS. My first impression is that your card should be supported and you may have other installation issues.
To answer your question about Boris Calligraphy which is bundled with Final Cut 6, it should not depend on the graphics card at all as long as the card is approved for Final Cut

Can you please tell us what computer/graphics card are you using? It is true that Premiere is currently not supported with 3D Objects. But AE 7 should be OK. We plan to add Premiere in near future.
