Final Cut Pro 7
Posted by Peter Tours on July 25, 2009 at 11:49 amCall me an early adopter – my upgrade to FCS3 is in the mail. I am wondering if BorisFX anticipates any issues when I using Red 4 or BCC5 when I install FCP7. Cheers!

July 27, 2009 at 3:40 amBob,
Have you tried any other BCC6 filters in FCS3??
If this new FCP build kills all the C6 filters,
I will definitely have to wait before (or even if) I decide to upgrade to FCS3.Dual 2.5 G5, IO, Kona LH, IO, Medea Raid, UL4D, NVidia 6800, 4Gig RAM

July 27, 2009 at 12:27 pmAs we continue testing the final, released version of FCS3 I can share with you that most BCC 6 filters work as expected in the new release by Apple with the exception of Boris Continuum Shaders (BCS). These filters are unique to Apple FxPlug and require special treatment. The Chromakey Studio filter is one of BCS filters. We are working on a free update that will repair all know problems. In the meantime you can fall back on the BCC Chromakey, BCC Film Process, etc. We apologize for inconvenience.

July 27, 2009 at 12:34 pmBoris – thanks for the personal update. Unfortunately I bought BCC5 on an Academic discount about a week before you introduced BCC6…will BCC5 work w. FCP7?
Oh, and while I am on the subject…how about Red 4 inside FCP7? I would reallllllllly be lost without Red!!
Thanks much for all you do! Peter

Your BCC 5 as well as RED should be fine. I’m not aware of any problems with older products. It’s the cutting edge that always hurts.

July 27, 2009 at 4:05 pmThanks for the quick heads-up Boris!
It is much appreciated!
The Continuum 6 filters I can’t live without now on most projects.
Good to know that most of them are working fine.
I may have to go ahead and make the leap to FCS3 now!Dual 2.5 G5, IO, Kona LH, IO, Medea Raid, UL4D, NVidia 6800, 4Gig RAM

January 25, 2010 at 11:32 pmI’m reading this post in January 2010. Has this problem been fixed? I’m near completion on a show with many BCS effects that have gone away after upgrading to FCP 7.
Please help!
Thanks, Jerry
