For a digital recorder, it is necessary to have a clock that tells the recorder when it should capture a sample of the audio. For example, if you are recording with a sampling rate of 48,000 samples per second, the clock tells the device when it is time to capture a sample. If two recorders are working, their clocks may be slightly out of synch and the audio from one device will begin to diverge from the audio on the other device when they are subsequently played back with a single clock used for both sources.

As you said, you fixed it, and it did not require a single update to Vegas as far as I could tell. I guess that whatever was going on in your machine has not been encountered by anyone of this forum.

I strongly suggest that you upgrade to Windows 7. I think Windows 6 was called Vista, and it is one of those versions of Windows that everyone was happy to stop using. Lots of problems.

750w? An i5 with 8gb of ram is a bit underpowered. I was not referring to the size of the power supply. I was asking about the computer’s speed.

You probably need to provide details about your computer before thinking that Vegas has a bug. It sounds like your computer is underpowered which would cause Vegas to lag the video in preview mode.

Are you using hardware like the Spyder Pro to calibrate your monitor? That will be needed for any monitor, and it may extend the life of your current one.

Some cameras do not perform well when doing things like panning. Try panning verrryy slowly and see if that reduces the problem.

Is this a menu being created in DVD Architect? Does it preview properly in Architect?

What output formats are you rendering to? In Vegas Pro, DVD Architect works best when you render the video and audio in two different files. I do not know if Movie Studio has this ability.

Please do not misunderstand. Unless the shutter speed on your camera is determined by the frames per second, more frames do NOT produce more detail. More detail is produced by a faster shutter speed since faster shutter speeds help to freeze motion. I have cameras that internally handle any mismatch between frames per second and shutter speed. However, I cannot say that all cameras, including yours, do that. That is why I said that if a faster frames per second causes your camera to use a faster shutter speed, then faster frames per second will produce more detail.
