hi
I may have had a similar issue not long ago
go to one of the clips in your hdv sequence that you have reconnected, right click on it and remove all attributes. sometimes FCP adds littl things like
aspect ratio changes and such when you mix codecs and timelines. If this is the case you will still need to find a way to change your clips, which i cant help with but may be in the manual adn maybe someone else here can help

My apple monitor is a dell 16×9 lcd, and i also have it coming out downconverted through a KONA lh into a sony 19″
The images look a little skinny on both monitors as well as the black bars on the sides

that must be some trick to get HDV timecode onto DVCAM tapes, as i tried for several hours to figure that out and found it IMPOSSIBLE! i think its cuz the HDV timecode is not really SMPTE timecode, and dvcam is.
HOWEVER if he or she was succesful please let us know how they did it
BTW i hope they were succesful for your sake, elsewise itll be a lot of eye matching!

So when you make a freeze from the timeline, it makes a freeze of all tracks?
i guess thats kinda cool. Im used to having to pre comp mult tracks, then put a freeze in the precomp result
thanx

thanx!
its an 8 bit clip in an 8 bit sequence. Once i render the range its fine.
its also not consistent
i will endeavor to gather more facts as i did not suprevise the job from the start.

January 26, 2006 at 4:45 am in reply to: is this a bug? or just a gotcha? DV sequence softens 8 bit clipsaha! so it is a “feature gotcha”!
so FCP would shift in one line up under “motion” as opposed to putting in a filter? i guess i did not look closely enough at the motion tab to see. i will check into this
thanx!
