    OK

So i have an animated graph thats a AnimationQT with alpha on track 2, and i have a timelapse cloud loop on track 1. i need to pause the animation every so often for the voice over narration to catch up but i want the clouds to keep going underneath. which is why i did the graph as a qt in the first place. SO i make freeze frame at the point in the graph movie where i want hold, then pick up where i want graph to resume. all is good so far

HOWEVER when i go to render, the clouds freeze at the same time as the graph
what? and it seems the only way around is to make the freeze frame with track one locked? should not the freeze frame only be the clip on one track and not ALL the tracks?

it seems odd to me. what am i missing? (other than a class in FCP)

    Mac os 10.4
    FCP 5
    dual 2.7 g5
    kona lh
    promax sata raid

You’re making a freeze frame from the timeline. Press f to bring up the clip in the viewer and then make the freeze frame from the viewer and edit into the timeline, leaving track 1 alone.

    Bret

So when you make a freeze from the timeline, it makes a freeze of all tracks?

i guess thats kinda cool. Im used to having to pre comp mult tracks, then put a freeze in the precomp result

    thanx
