If you keep Nero from loading anything resident it seems to work ok, if it loads IE search functions and toolbars things can get sticky

Roxio and Nero don’t play together very well, and maybe causing problems in Ppro, I would suggest you get rid of one of them.

10 bit codecs usually come attached to a card that can use them, what the drastic codec does in Ppro I’ma don’t know.

Did you load a video capture card manuf. Quicktime V210 codec? say Like Blue fish? if so most require the card present and only play back ASIO sound through the card. If you have the card did you load QT 6.5 or above to your system?

Why don’t you just export the same file from both, time each and inspect the quality, and see if there is a difference. -

The processor and memory are no more marginal than P-IV a few years ago, obviously this is supposed to be a inexpensive editing system, the major drawbacks are: the GeForce 6150 is a motherboard GPU which means its probably a all-in-one MoBo that uses shared memory, plus using external drives, both of which can be problematical. -

Premiere is a DV editor, DV audio is 48khz,16bit or 32khz, 12bit, 44.1khz is a CD standard, you can convert it to 48khz,16bit but trying to sync video to a external source sometimes can be problematical as a slight freq difference in the recorders clock can make a time difference in long files, usually what I do is have one cam record a feed from the sound system so the audio is synced to the video from the start.
