Thats what I was wondering if someone had done, I’ve seen a comparison between Instand HD and Resizer1 with footage deinterlaced in AFX, they were fairly close, since Resizer 2 is shipping with its own deinterlacer I was curious if the one in CS3 was as good. -
Thanks for the info, interesting about the p project, I’m more concerned in de-interlacing DV WS prior to upscaling for use in HDV projects.

Are you talking about the capture screen going blank while capturing HDV?

Like Mike said it is very similar to “edit original”, the difference is “edit original” includes other applications, where “edit in photoshop” is photoshop specific, to “edit in photoshop” the image has to be a format that photoshop can use and you have to select it on the timeline or in the bin, then it shouldn’t be greyed out. -
You could try slowing down the frame rate, also what is the frame size?

Have you done a surface scan on the drive to check for errors? Also if this is a problem that occurs after a time period elaspes you may have a heat problem on the drive.

You can check to see if there is 60min(SP) or 90min(LP)on the tapes if LP you will need the original camcorder and even then if the tapes have aged playback can be questionable.

There maybe problems that might not show up on the small lcd on a camcorder that could cause dropped frames, have you tried viewing the camcorders output on a regular monitor? also have you tried playing a tape you know is good through the camcorder and capturing it to make sure everything is still working ok?
borrowing or renting another device would be a way to eliminate possible trouble areas in troubleshooting
