Okino can only convert max file sif 3ds max is installed on that system.
To the best of my knowledge there is no way to convert a max file to anything else wihtout havin max installed.

Hm, i created a scene from your description and rendered it on the same machine with 8.207 and 9.521. In both cases i got two seconds of rendertime for 1024×768 pixel image. No idea where the difference in your scene comes from.

    Hi,
in the cloth tag you can define the range of frames where cloth is active.
By default it will be active during the whole animation.

  • Ups, sorry, that does not work in this case since the circle is closed.
The problem is that you only have a 180 degree twist and the rest of the twist is done between the endpoints.
So instead of merging the endpoints remove the twisted polygons and create new polygons with the creat polygon tool.

  • The mesh is not connected at that point, the ring isn’t realy closed.
Disable caps, convert this to polygons, select the endpoints and use optimize to merge the eight points to four.

    Hi,
pblurp won’t do that. It is a standalone effect in TP that does not work well with other TP functions.
Maybe use PPostion Follow and PSurface or PVolume position instead to place the particles in or on a geometry.

Seems you zoomed out pretty far during working. Just select parallel view from the camera menu of the viewport and then perspective. This will reset your editorcamera to default.
To avoid this try to use the dolly function instead of zoom.

    Hi,
the stored defaults can be seen in the contentbrowser, but they are created by using the Edit->Set as default command in the AM menu.

October 21, 2005 at 2:40 pm in reply to: Cloth – Object Interaction: trampoline effect

    Hi,
the examples you linked too are not for CLoth, but for Dynamics. Dynamics and CLoth can’t interact, they are very different in how they work. A trampoline effect should be done with Dynamics.
As for the problem of different settings for different parts of the same polygon object, since 9.5 you can use weight maps to assign different properties to parts of one polygon object.
