The mesh is not connected at that point, the ring isn’t realy closed.
Disable caps, convert this to polygons, select the endpoints and use optimize to merge the eight points to four.

don’t think it’s possible leaving it as a Sweep. With only 180 degrees of rotation the back is now lining up with the front and Sweep Nurbs has not lost track of that, so it has to whip them through each other to connect front to front and back to back (so to speak). It can be done if you make the spline right first then uncheck ‘Close Spline’ to leave a gap, make that editable and join it by hand using the Create Polygon or Bridge tools. Here’s an example

Ups, sorry, that does not work in this case since the circle is closed.
The problem is that you only have a 180 degree twist and the rest of the twist is done between the endpoints.
So instead of merging the endpoints remove the twisted polygons and create new polygons with the creat polygon tool.

Hi. Using a Regular CircleSpline : With NoCaps , by setting the “SweepGrowth” to 99% and check “Keep Segments” all you have to do is then Make Editable and Optimize.

    Cheers
