Yes, if you open a library in 10.6.1 FCP will convert that library to the format required by the new release of FCP. That library can no longer be opened in 10.5.x.

Please describe in more detail exactly what problems you are having. Which sync option did you choose? How is auto sync not working for you? Describe how you want to move clips around.

I run into this often when editing Zoom videos. I have found that the FCP “Flow” transition in the “Dissolves” category often makes the jump cut disappear, or at least become an acceptable transition.

If I’m not mistaken, the orange LaCie drives spin at 5,400 RPM. “Desktop” drives such as the LaCie d2 Quadra spin at 7,200 RPM. That could account for what you (don’t) hear when you press “L”.

On my 2017 iMac, with media on an external USB 3.0 hard drive, double-speed audio is not muted, but usually if I hit “L” a second time to speed playback even more then the audio is muted.

How about setting an In point in each clip, then creating your multicam clip? FCP won’t include anything prior to the In points of the clips.

IMHO, there are still lots of FCPX users that are running 10.4.n, and that some will not upgrade to 10.5 until (1) Apple releases 10.5.1, and/or (2) They purchase a new computer with Apple’s M1 processor. Until then, I think the name of this forum is correct.
