Migrating Plug-ins from iMac to Mac Studio

June 15, 2022 at 11:29 pmHaving migrated from my iMac 27″ 2013 to a new Mac Studio, many plug-ins are not compatible with the M1 chip and these all show up when I launch FCPX. I have a window on my FCPX interface that lists all the plug-ins and they are still listed under Text, Generators and Effects. How do I remove these so they don’t show up in FCPX?
Thanks.

June 16, 2022 at 12:53 amFCP Plugins are normally stored in these folders:
- Macintosh HD/Users/<i style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>your-user-name/Movies/Motion Templates/Effects/
- Macintosh HD/Users/<i style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>your-user-name/Movies/Motion Templates/Generators/
- Macintosh HD/Users/<i style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>your-user-name/Movies/Motion Templates/Titles/
- Macintosh HD/Users/<i style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>your-user-name/Movies/Motion Templates/Transitions/
Within these folders are subfolders for each plug-in or plug-in package. If plug-ins are part of a package, there will be a subfolder for the package, known as a “category.” In each category subfolder you will find a subfolder for each individual plug-in in that package.
You can safely delete plug-in and category folders to remove their contents from FCP.

June 20, 2022 at 8:42 pmHere is the list of Plug-ins I get when I launch FCPX 10.6 that either need to be updated or deleted (because they are incompatible with FCPX 10.6 of Mac Studio M1 Max). I located the area where the plug-ins are located from your links provided. But I don’t see any of these. And what is Universe? This is getting very confusing.
Help and Thanks.
