September 19, 2014 at 12:57 am in reply to: Better Lens for the Sony EX-3

    Hello Ronnie,

The ACM-18 adapter came with the Sony EX-3 when I got the camera back in 2010….
you should have one, if you own a EX-3. If not I see them on eBay.com going for anywhere from $100.00 up to $700.00 (some people, get real)…..I am sure you can call Sony support and they will give you the part number, but knowing Sony….it will not be cheap.

    I hope this helps…..

  • Hello,

I used a “Blade” on my EX-3 last year…and it would only record on “record run “, not free run on the time code setting.

I would suggest you call Atomos at:

    https://www.atomos.com/contact/

they have helped me out in the past and can answer your questions.

February 11, 2014 at 12:52 am in reply to: S x S cards and Mavericks

I downloaded this driver the SxS and i-link on my 2008 Mac Book Pro but that was before I went to 10.1 Maverick… I did the driver first and then Maverick….and it all works:

    https://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/micro-xdcam/resource.downloads.bbsccms-assets-micro-xdcam-downloads-XDCAMSoftwareDownload.shtml#apps

Try this driver as I hope this helps….

  • I know this sound dumb….this has happened to me also…

so, what I do is put the SDHC card in the sxs adapter, then put sxs adapter into the camera…so then I get the error messenge… then, I take out the card from the camera…take the sdhc card out of the adapter, then re insert the card in the adapter, put the adapter back in the camera…and then the camera now sees the card and all is well.

I know this sounds strange..but it works on my EX-3…..

  • One note you need to know….I was in the market for a NanoFlash this summer, until I found out that they are no longer being made….so I rented a Atomos Samurai on a shoot in October and I really liked the monitor, which is built in to the unit and the video looked real nice as I had it hooked to my Sony EX-3.

So, you might be able to find a nano online, but you would be buying something that is no longer being made…but I am sure it will be supported Convergent Design.

I do hear you this…but I hate to say, that Sony are the only ones that can get you the updates….and they want their “pound of flesh”….if you know what I mean….good luck to you….

Your EX-1 has to go back to a Sony service center and what I have to report is not good…a shooter friend of mine here in Dallas went through the same thing (EX-1 owner), and they said that the cost to upgrade the camera would be in the $300.00 range and it would be gone for 10 days….

    Hello…

I do feel your pain on this issue….I know that this does not help much, but I use the Anton Bauer EX3 adapter with Anton Bauer Dionic 90 batteries….and for 3 years I have had no problems…..It seems like if you using the adapter/batteries combo and your 3 cameras are doing the same thing….it might be the battery system you are using….

September 30, 2013 at 11:38 pm in reply to: Sony EX3/Atomos “Samurai”—–Feedback Please

    Mike,

Yes, having a back up recording is what I like about a external recorder and I have used the nanoFlash with my camera for several reality shows….and its not that bad on the back…as I use the Sony shoulder brace I got off ebay.com and it has a extra mount on the left side….

thanks to all for the good feedback……
