Clip plays fine in Clip Browser but gives media error in camera…
OK, so I’m having an issue here.
I’m using a 16GB SD card in my EX1 and filming went without a hitch.
However, now, when I attempt to copy the card to my hard drive, the disc ejects about halfway through the copy and it errors out.
I’ve tried using ShotPut Pro, same thing. I’ve tried copying using the USB from the EX1, same thing. I’ve tried using FileSalvage, same thing.
If I attempt to play from the camera, it gives me a Media Error, media needs to be restored.
However, it plays fine in Clip Browser.
I was hoping to just play it from my camera and capture it in my Hyperdeck Shuttle, but it fails there too.
Any suggestions?

Are you able to manually import the file into Browser? Highlight a location in the Explorer window (e.g. ‘desktop’), then File–>Import and browse to the .mp4 in question. If that fails, can the file be rewrapped to .mxf? Right-click–>Export–>MXF for NLE.

I know this sound dumb….this has happened to me also…
so, what I do is put the SDHC card in the sxs adapter, then put sxs adapter into the camera…so then I get the error messenge… then, I take out the card from the camera…take the sdhc card out of the adapter, then re insert the card in the adapter, put the adapter back in the camera…and then the camera now sees the card and all is well.
I know this sounds strange..but it works on my EX-3…..

I’ve tried all the above, and it ‘unmounts/ejects’ the SD Card and fails.
It’s hard to believe that I can play from Clip Browser just fine, but can’t copy.

OK, so here’s what ended up working for me.
I tried EVERYTHING I could think of.
Because the clip could be played of the SD card in XDCam Clip Browser, I thought I could export it using Clip Browser.
No go.
I tried using the EX camera as my ‘USB’ reader as well.
No go.
So, I hooked up my Dell 24″ monitor via USB to my MacBook Pro, and loaded the card and imported the clip into Premier Pro CC and proceeded to export a ProRes file to my desktop.
That worked!
It sat there a while on the ‘bad’ parts, but it worked and I now have usable footage.
Crazy, isn’t it?
