any experience with this update
does it need specific quicktime 7.5 or final cut pro 6.04 update to operate, this isnt mentioned in readme with update
I am running on quad G5, kona LH
was wondering if the AV timing issues resolved would be to do with genlock?

i thought the same thing, I tried contacting 2 times and no reply
looked like a really good product
needs updating though to include master templates and could do with values like put clip in at sequence timecode with in point or backtiming to be really useful, e.g. for layouts to tape at specific intervals
also could have done with some sort of abstraction on patches like pure data e.g. controller patches that control the layer underneath.
this would allow for easy swapping of sequence content and clip content without rebuilding the nodes altogether
would have been good to see what other people were coming up with as well for their nodes and uses for the product.– – – – – – – – –

have been looking into this control surface which looks well nice
it is programmable and works with final cut pro
https://www.frontierdesign.com/Products/AlphaTrack
there is another compatible one for even cheaper

got to say thanks to you 2 guys for answers
the reference signal being fed to kona is trisync level 1080 50i
the reference signal being fed to the SD digibeta deck is blackburst 625 PAL SD
the 2 signals are being fed from a tektronix generator that costs thousands and has 4 separate outputs set to the same house sync signal
we went in the tektronix generator and double checked the signal we were feeding the AJA was correct, then it got patched up correctly, it was 1080 trisync on the kona control panel
what we are finding is occasional initial sync and then a quick drift off that keeps drifting over time, causing lining of picture to change over time.
the advice from Kona didnt seem to address sync signals and instead was more to do with audio and video being off by one frame, they did however suggest trashing kona.plist file
I have a sneaky suspicion HDV is the culprit and is somehow corrupting settings somewhere (easy setups or Kona control panels) and not allowing us to properly set back. I have to say HDV has shown me how bad it really is in the past few weeks

August 8, 2008 at 8:51 am in reply to: What is the most affordable/effective mac to buy to run FCPS2?the imac seems a very good choice, in my opinion they are actually very cheap for what your getting
the monitor to me seems pretty good, doesnt look cheap at all, I know from photography what a decent monitor looks like
my only thing about imac is the problem that this user needs a fast hard drive to do multi cam so basically it is a no brainer for me, mac pro and internal Sata drives as a cheap raid, then pick up 2 old CRT monitors from his school and hes away
maybe would work with firwire 800 raid on imac though
I have been advising the imac to lots of people looking for cheap kit that are working in DV, I think it is cheap for what it does and it kind of is more than enough for a lot of users, it even gets Motion working

my best idea is to export out XML
open the XML in a text editor like text wrangler or bbedit
then work out the code for a chapter marker compared to a normal marker
then use some sort of find replace possibly with Grep (check Wikipedia if not a word that makes sense)
then reimport XML to project and export out to compressor
