depending on the type of parameter being changed you may want to send the clip to Motion and then use its far superior keyframe inspector tool (it will only work with parameters from the motion tab of final cur pro though, so no keyframed effects unfortunately)

Final cuts keyframes are great for basics but but rubbish for fast and detailed editing of effects. If I need more control go to motion

I put a kind of complex tutorial to the podcast that explains quite a lot on keyframes in Motion, maybe take a look, think its the TV effect one, last one I did.

if you have a few clips overlaid on top of each other then one technique is to select all the edit points, move the playhead so in to out is 2 sec and press E for extend edit

useful technique for getting all clips trimmed to same length if already down on timeline

i do this all the time

select the clips you need on timeline

modify > turn off stereo pair (tick)

like they said above watch for linking of audio and video and the panning

however make sure you must not select music or other tracks which are meant to be in stereo as these will toggle to the opposite e.g. mono 2 channel

same goes for making footage which wasnt captured in stereo mix as stereo (this is more what I end up with)

with dv footage only

open clip to viewer

dv start/stop detect

move clip in browser to new bin

open the disclosure triangle to left of clip in bin in browser

select all the markers created

go modify > make subclip

if you need to name clips before doing then change markers from browser or canvas

my advice dont capture more than 30 mins off DV it goes out of sych

HDV can be captured and broken into separate clips on capture and defaults to this with HDV to Prores capture (which is one of the easiest ways to capture)

If not from these 2 formats, forget about it, learn how to log and capture it is quick once you know how

you can use fields from final cut like label for tagging of sorts and description is a good field as well

learn how to search in the browser and then you can retrieve clips easy

also bins are your friend for what you are trying to do

no TC genlock signal on this camera however that isnt the only way and this camera works this way

you use firewire and then look in the menu to sync to second camera
