    hmm……ive done this recently with 4.5.

    short clip tho, like, 3 mins.

    i set up my camera, firewire into the hd, then hd to apple ibook g4, then hit capture now while in non-control device.

    i wasnt runnin tape tho. perhaps that is a reason?

    48k audio…….. or 32k audio, depending upon your timeline settings.

    i dunno, in all seriousness, times are changing, media doesnt mean what it used to, and well, look up the guidlines for this yourself and do what you feel comfortable with.

    matching it up isn’t that difficult either, especially if your slated, and remember you can toggle the sound waves on and off with

    apple-ctrl-w….i believe, i know the hotkey more with my fingers, than with the actual keys!

  • hmm………………this could work, but i would wait till more people post on this topic before trying this,

    if the AUDIO is EXACTLY the same length, as the one you edited with, and is EXACTLY the SAME, only sweetened…..you could try deleting hte clip from your project (not the hard drive,

    and when asked to re-import the mising file, re-point it to the sweetened track…

    but please, before doing somethign like that, backup, backup, backup!

  • in an education setting you can use 10% of a copywrited work legally. we do it everyday at the university I edit video at….

    your gonna need mpegstreamclip and macthe ripper!
