yah, the natress filters have always piqued my interest,

im a big fan of shooting xl2 24p video with the pstechnic mini35mm adapter and real 35mm zeiss superspeed lenses or cook s4 lenses.

discreet combustion also let’s you choose film stocks to add to your video, so you can say, the exact type of film stock you want, so the grains match, etc

i think the biggest way to make your video look like film, is to make sure when it is shot, to make sure you get a short depth of field, and that of course, your subject is in focus, and background drops off a lot. then when you add your film effect, it’ll look more like film….of course at this part of post, you can’t aways do it.

here is a link to a short film i helped do post on,

    https://www.pmpecciart.com/HTMLFiles/MikesFlight.html

shot on a canon xl1s, no film effects, just smart shooting and color correction in discreet combustion. turned a lot of heads here in boston!

or just run it thru a cheapo dv deck..,like a canon camcorder…

then you dont have TC, but if the footage works, the footage works!

    yeah…its odd.

i am trying to format it, os extended, non journaled. and i do that, and it formats it, but it keeps reverting back to journaled. i triued to turn it off with cocktail, but i can’t copy more than 890 megs onto a the disc (for editing this is bad, of course)

anymore ideas, other than send these drives back?

    yeah……if only it were true.

i think they have masters, they just dont want to pay for the digitization of them, cause they alreayd have real files.

    its a cluster****

it’ll et figured out. basically they are trying to use files that were perfect for one use, and use them for something completely different, without re-doing the work from scratch.

and of course they need this done in 2 weeks, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is one of those things, and i agree its a horrible way of doing it, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!
