    hi all…
this may seem like a silly question…

but we are thinking of getting a dvcpro deck
    the one i have found doesn’t have a firewire…

then i started thinking…how will i make fcp recognize it ?

any ideas as to how to make this happen ?

thanks in advance for any advice

You need an AJA I/O-box, datavideo DAC-30 -box or AJA- or Blackmagic -card or something like that to make it happen!

or just run it thru a cheapo dv deck..,like a canon camcorder…

then you dont have TC, but if the footage works, the footage works!

Yes, but you will also give up deck control by doing that.
