    Thanks Rich,

So by that are you meaning that I shouldn’t even bother about copy righting or protecting myself? Not even the name?

If so, cool I guess, less work. But just wanted to clarify. Thanks. 🙂

Hi Mark, and thanks for your reply.

My main reason for looking for bridal leads is because I have notice that my success comes greatly when I have a “Meet and Greet” with a couple at Starbucks. We are signing 80% of clients that we meet in person and buy them a cup of joe.

Would you or anyone out there know of a way to increase our “Meet and Greet” numbers? We are a younger company and haven’t been in a bridal show yet. We are in Houston and the next ones aren’t until August (which we are planning on attending) but are focusing on simply increase our numbers of Meet and Greets.

So any thoughts would be AWESOME!! 🙂

    Thanks in advance,

I’d like to know as well, good demo. I don’t know if a bride would like how aggressive it is…..but I’m sure all the grooms think it is so cool. “Dude, my wedding video is going to be Brave Heart!!”

    Thanks Ron for you advise.

Although, this really hasn’t helped me. The only thing I found was Walter Biscardi suggesting licensing a software for $250 a month. Oh yea, you also have to purchase a new fully loaded HP computer to run it ($1700).

I was hoping to find someone, anyone who is doing Blu-Ray in Event videos. Are you producing Blu-Ray yourself?

I’m not a steadicam operator, but I am in the same boat as you are. I am looking for a quality rig for a lower price.

What I have found from my research is that it is more depending on how much weight you are planning on flying. By this, what camera do you have. If you are shorting primarily weddings, I assume you use your own cameras and don’t use a wide range of cameras.

With this info, you can pick a real Tiffen Steadicam rig to match your camera.

Merlin: up to 5 lbs less than $4000 w/ vest and arm
    Pilot: 5 – 10 lbs less than $6000
    Flyer LE: 10 – 19 lbs? less than $9000

If you are doing mainly events videography (since you are in the Event forum) I don’t see you needing anything bigger than the Flyer. Especially if you are a beginner, you don’t want to invest anything more than that.

Although, if you are wanting to freelance as a steadicam operator for my commercial work, you would want to go w/ the Flyer at a minimum. And if you are wanting to be taken series, you want to only work with Steadicam, it is by far the best quality. Everything else is just a knock off of Steadicam.

Good luck and let us know what you go with.
