  • Easier way to add a bunch of dissolves

    Hello to all,

I am cutting a long event that was shot with two cameras. This is very basic and the client just wants smooth cross dissolves through the whole spot.

I know about just right clicking on the cut and adding my default transition, but I have to do that about a hundred times.

Is there some way to do this quicker and easier? If I were to need to delete all of the dissolves, I just cmd click every transition down the timeline, and hit the delete key. But I can’t just cmd click every cut and then choose Effects > Transitions > Dissolves > Cross Dissolve. At least I’ve tried and I haven’t been able to get it to work.

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Hi Beau,
Select the transition you want (kind and duration) as your Favorite transition.
Select in the time line all the clips that you want to put the transition.
Drag the selection to the “Overwrite with transition” well.
    That’s all.
