  • Hey Mike, thanks for your reply. I am in Houston Texas, and from only one website, I have gotten 80+ wedding coordinators info.

I was surprised myself by how many different companies/home based business there are.

    Thanks again for your help,

  • Wow, excellent post Walter. Thank you very much for your insight. Although it is making feel better that I’m not offering Blu-ray yet, it is interesting that you are doing everything in the FCP suite until actually authoring. I thought that you would have to compress with in another app.

I really appreciate your help. I learned a bunch in only a few paragraphs. 🙂

  • This is, as I’m sure, an interesting topic for many. Walter, would you mind letting us FCP users in on your entire work flow from :

    FCP to AE (if needed)
    AE to FCP
FCP to Color back to FCP
    and then…??

This is where I’m not sure of the work flow. Do you export a self contained QT and import to Premier to do your encoding? What are your next steps. Of course, after posting this I’m going to read your blog on Encore. And also, it would be great if Apple would just hop on and make DVD SP/Compressor able to do BluRay.

Anyway thanks for the posts, I always love learning and planning for more fun stuff!

All that you really need is a Hi-Hat. Call your local grip/camera rental house and they’ll have one.

You might have to rent a set of sticks with a 100mm ball head, depending on your tripod. Should be able to get a good deal if you tell the what it is for.

Anyway, if you can’t afford this, then you sure can’t afford the lawyer fees when a mirror falls on your talent from an 8ft ceiling.

    Good luck.

I bought the VIDLed, https://vidled.com/, it’s alright. It is very light (in weight). But I do suggest getting the WarmLED (3000k), I called the guys who make this and they said that it would be smarter to get the 8000k and be able to knock it down. Bad idea. It still has some pop to it, but after I have to put 2 gels on it, it does take away some of the power.

But all in all, I love it. It is dimmable and I have never ran out of the battery that you can buy with it. There is also an adapter so that you can use one of your cameras spare bricks.

Go with the WarmLED and you’re golden for weddings.

  • This is awesome stuff, thanks a lot guys. And Mark, yeah, I didn’t have broadcast in mind, I know that I just can’t compete. I am mainly focusing on online video for the clients website and training videos.

But I loved you idea about video for waiting rooms in auto shops and medial offices. Also, Tim’s advise to focus on companies with 25-500 employees is perfect for what I am needing. And thanks a bunch Mick for telling me about how you advise clients to go with the extra half day to get more footage for future use. I had also thought that I would concentrate more on half days, to save the client money and not to over work myself for these low budgets. But having the relationship with the client to look out for their best interests is something that never occurred to me.

Great stuff again, I love it. THE COW ROCKS!!

  • Awesome Bob, thanks for your help. It feels good when someone says that your on the track. I haven’t finalized my business plan yet, but this signifies that I should further pursue this avenue.

Thanks again, and if anyone else has any comments I would love to hear them.
