I would also be re-naming my clips during import to make sure they have names that A) make sense to me so I can find them fast and easy, B) Will order alphabetically as I wish. One method is to put a two or three digit number in front of each name. Remember, in computer (binary), 10 comes before 1, but 001 (or 01) comes before 010 (or 10).

They are not an authorized Panny dealer and are probably selling gray-market stuff. Stay very far away from them!

Make the two mouse clicks it’ll take to find out.

Actually no, Name and Duration are the only two options. But fill out the FCP feedback form for Apple and ask for more options when ordering Icon views. I have, several times.

FW is a super chatty transfer protocol. I’ve tried spliting it out to a laptop and Firestore at the same time, can’t seem to get it to work. Too much data flowing through the pipe.

I’ve always ordered my upgrades the moment they go on sale. I’ve never had any problems doing my upgrades with FCP/S since v.1.0. And I’ve never seen the first release of an FCS upgrade be really buggy enough to be worth mentioning.

  • Is there a theater in your area? I bet there is. Not a movie theater, a real theater, where they stage plays. As in, with real actors. I know small villages here in deep south Louisiana that have theaters like this. I’d assume there’d have to be something close to you. There’s got to be somebody.

Just wondering. I had just read the umpteenth article about SCSI/USB/Firewire, history, etc. I have a hospital I’m building out a new production studio for. They have some VERY old stuff, including a SCSI RAID tower that’s older than god. Just don’t see too much SCSI around anymore. As a retired IT engineer, I remember being totally blown away by the speed of SCSI, but it was expensive. The good old days, when we thought then what was “unbelievably fast”, is today considered snail slow and useless… just reminiscing…

Ignore the rest of the video, just look at their photomontage. Check out some of the top US people, they do great photomontages.

Good going, you have both the STP fixed audio file, and your original capture file. But simply relinking media to the STP audio file rarely works, in my experience. You can do a Match Frame with the video portion in the Timeline window to find the original video clip. I wouldn’t “replace” the STP sound clip. I’d put the original on the audio track just below the STP clip. That way you can lower the volume on the one you don’t want to use, and not lose any opportunity of switching over if you find it necessary.
