It appears to be a problem with that project alone . . . exported an AVI and created a new project, just to test the DVD Export, and it appears to be working properly.

I have to add in here that I do a lot of editing on PPro, on a laptop, with a pcimia card . . . with few problems.

I had more issues using the built in 4-pin firewire connector because it would constantly get worked loose and cause many issues, including corrupted projects. The addition of the pcimia card gave me a 6-pin connector that is much more robust and locks better.

Granted, I’m not doing any major compositing, just cutting, color correcting, basic effects and graphics.

Could it be BARS & TONE?

Before I get flamed . . . I’m a friend of Jason’s and have walked through his PPro problems with him.

We both use it, but he’s always had hardware issues that we have not been able to figure out.

Sorry Jason, I could not resist!

Depending on the location and size of the logo . . . and if the video is appropriate for this, a letterbox could also solve the problem.

    I use a ZD8000 . . .

It has a P4 3.0 Hyper Threading processor, not a mobile chip. 1gb of ram, which I am going to upgrade to 2, sometime soon. 100 gb internal drive.

It works well . . . I use external firewire drives hooked into a notebook firewire card with a six pin connector. I did not like using the built-in 4 pin connector on the ZD8000, because it came loose very easily. I had a few instances where it got loosened while PPro was in the process of saving a project . . . only to find out that in the process the project file was corrupted. A good reason to always remember to use Auto-Save.

Ultra is very easy to use.

I’ll look at your site when I get a little more time!

As far as marketing, the chamber is a great idea . . . I have found that making contacts and satifying your clients will get more business than most direct mailings. Direct mail tends to get trashed if there’s not something about it that makes it stand out, that’s why credit card companies, lenders and sweepstakes mail always say official notice, don’t throw this away!, etc. So unless you come up with some creative, out-of-the-box way to keep someone from throwing away you card, letter or cd/dvd demo, the return on direct mail may not be sufficient to justify the cost. Think about it . . . it’s not even uncommon these days to get cd/dvd junk mail these days.

I would try an email campaign with your current contact list and the list of businesses that should be available through your chamber membership. You will probably come across at least a few people who have considered your type of service.

I get a lot of business from clients passing my name around and from those contacts that I had from my cable days. I still do business for the account executives that I had then, especially when they need something beyond the capabilities of their current production staff.

Good luck and keep getting your name out there.
