Just right click in your project window (where your media clips are located) and go to “new item” – black video.

Just edit that in where you have blank spaces in the timeline and use cross dissolves for your fade in/out.

I know that when I first started using Premiere . . . before the software gained the ability to export to DVD directly from the timeline, that if you left any gaps (instead of using the black clip) that my audio would be out of sync.

For example . . . I would fade to “black” (blank timeline) at the end of a scene, leave a gap of blank timeline and the fade up into the next scene and I would always get audio out of sync on export. Never had the problem once I started using the black clip . . . and I always have since.

    Hope that helps!

Upgrade of Aspect HD did the trick . . . imports the files with no problem!

I got a response from Cineform that you have to upgrade to 5 to work in CS3.

Not sure about the Windows thing . . . I just know that it appeared to coincide with the CS3 upgrade.

    Thanks!

    Sorry,

    1 more issue:
With 2.0, I could import MPEG 2 files with no problem. I have a file that I am trying to import into CS3 and it basically locks the program . . . but the file will open with no problem in 2.0.

    Error: [..\..\Src\Time.cpp-105]
    Thanks!

No free solution that I’m aware of. $200 is cheap, in my opinion, to be able to edit .mxf files directly!
Thanks . . . and I’ll check out the update.

I edited HVX footage with PPro 2.0, using the Raylight plug-in.
Everything went smoothly . . . I was able to access the .mxf files(from 3 cameras recording to Firestores)directly without any type of conversion. The most important thing is to make sure that your project settings match the settings used on the camera.

The only issue I ever had was that periodically I would get a message when trying to load a clip into the source window and it would say that the Raylight plug-in was not loaded. Closing and re-opening Premiere would take care of it . . . not sure what was causing it, though.

    Thanks, I’ll check that out.

  • So if you shoot on P2 and dump media to drives that have been formatted as NTFS . . . that will work, correct?
That is if you are cutting on a PC and not using Mac in the workflow.

    Thanks!

Thanks . . .I’m trying that out right now. It also appears as though Cineform may have a solution soon.
