December 22, 2007 at 7:04 pm in reply to: Creating a sun orbiting a planet

    Hi friend,
I did this effect myself and used the movement of the sun to give the illusion of the camera… but two major problems will come up, the first being the stars in the background must move if the camera is supposed to be sweeping say 360 degrees therefore you need multiple solids/star backgrounds in 3d space and line them upas a 3d say hexagon room (that’s just one way, I’m sure there are others) The second problem is you need the have the planet spin 360 degrees or whatever amount you want also giving the illusion of camera movement. This is how I did mine and it turned out perfect.

So basically I left the camera and animated the rest… until I eventually moved the camera after the sweep had finnished.

    Hope this helps.

December 20, 2007 at 12:15 am in reply to: Camera simulate a person running

    Hi Jeff,
I did a walking POV sim in AE7, startd using the wiggler and adjusted alternate keyframes horizontally mostly as the verticle height of human steps are pretty uniform, but it took a lot of tinkering, tried also keyframing manually as was relatively short clip, approximatley 8 seconds, but you’re right it doesn’t look very organic more like an old video game… but after playing about with the keyframes for a few hours it came out really great, the guy/POV collapses to his knees then onto the floor at the end which took some keyframe abuse…

But the main thing I found was the camera#s Point of Interest is more important, that is to keep it focused on say the TV.

Sorry this was so long, hope it helps in some way.
