Thanks for the response. This model uses FAT 32. No utility came with the product. The video file is from Canon XH A1 recorded as HDV M2T 1080i. Vegas accepts the files and plays the video seamlessly, however, it is the audio that drops at each break. The product rep. said to try TSSPLITTER. Never heard of it. Are you familiar with TSSPLITTER. The information says it’s for joining DVD TS files.

John, I too am still using and old Intel 9550 processor with the quadro 1500 running Vegas 10e. I have no problems. Much of what I do is long form programing, photo montages, and some broadcast spots.
I never crash on renders, and rarely during editing. The only chronic problem is with Pro Titler. When scrolling through the fonts. It often stops an gives and exception error. Now of course, because of all the fuss about V11 stability I have not installed it. Keep the information coming. I’d like to create a new build start using V11. I’ll wait for now. -

Here’s my 2cents worth. I use a JVC SVHS Deck that burns a DVD internally. I copy all the files from the DVD Disk to my editing system. Then I change the VOB extention to MPG and drag that onto the Vegas Timeline. Since the files are mpeg, Vegas renders without compression.
Give it a try.August

Thanks Nigel, Danny and Al. Think I will take the additional drive route. Appreciate the input.

Thanks Danny, That’s a good idea. Could hold me over until I can build or buy another system. I may have to check back as I get closer to making the jump. Have a good holiday.
Thanks,

I have also experienced the red frame mystery. It occurs when I am adding video a track created after I’ve started a project. For example.
When I am editing with Ultimate Pro 4 and add new video clips to a track above the master video track red frames sometimes appear in the master track. Also when I have added AVI video created from the Vegas timeline and added back into the project, and when I have had Vegas opened twice to copy elements from one project to another I have gotten the frames. I do not what causes the problem, but I work around it by saving my project before I add any additional video tracks or clips other than what was initially captured for the project. This may be a memory issue and not Vegas. Let me know if you discover the cause. -
Thanks John,
It’s all I got, I’ll send the notice to Sony.

Another option to using Arch backgrounds is to set up DVDA graphic editor preference under OPTIONS – PREFERENCE – VIDEO. Set your preferred graphic editor. I use Corel Paint Shop Pro. Now when you select a background in DVDA, just right click on the image and select open in graphic editor. You can now edit and save the image anyway you like. It’s quick and easy.
Good luck
