October 30, 2015 at 8:46 am in reply to: Text morphing/character changing plugin/preset in a single layerYou need to create masks or shapes of the characters you want to morph(you can do that simply by right clicking on the text layer and selecting create shapes from text). Then you have to copy and paste one mask or shape path keyframe at a time, from one character to the other. The process involves a lot of tweaking after this to create smooth motion.

This can happen if the resolution of your precomp and the 2nd outfit layer is different.
Instead of trying to replace the outfit with the precomp you should replace it with the output layer inside the precomp.
If it’s still creating problems you can change the anchor point property to bring it to the desired position without having to keyframe again.

Check the anchor point of your text layer. Also make sure that you haven’t turned on the 3d switch in any of the layers.

October 16, 2015 at 8:24 am in reply to: Worse quality of my 3d models after “scene setup”.There is no option to control the position of the light setup as far as i know, you can change the rotation of the lighting setup under Render settings-Lighting-Additional lighting-Rotation to achieve a specific look.
You can also check use comp lights, if you want to control the position.

October 14, 2015 at 7:29 am in reply to: Worse quality of my 3d models after “scene setup”.Element doesn’t carry the lighting you choose in the scene setup to your comp.
For eg. you selected Natural lighting in the scene setup and your model is looking amazing, when you come to the composition the lighting isn’t carried. You need to select the same lighting from the Element’s render settings-lighting.

You might have numbered files in the same folder with similar filename, that’s why ae is importing it as a sequence.
While importing the files make sure that you have turned of the checkbox for importing as a sequence in the import dialog box.

October 12, 2015 at 1:16 pm in reply to: Multiple Shapes With Defined different colours along a pathOops my bad,
1. I added the (value) at the end of the expression so that you can control the individual values of shapes as well.
2. For controlling the delay in time you can change the value from 0.5 to anything that you want.

After you have created your solid with all the masks, you can separate each mask on a different layer using MasksToLayers (https://aescripts.com/maskstolayers/), then animate the opacity of all layers from 0 to 100.
Sequence the layers using Animation- keyframe assistant- sequence layers command. Now you can add a little bit of randomness using Layer random shifter (https://aescripts.com/layer-random-shifter/)

October 12, 2015 at 10:56 am in reply to: Multiple Shapes With Defined different colours along a pathYou can try using a valueAtTime() expression in the position of all the shapes that you want following your main shape.
The Expression would be somewhat like this:
thisComp.layer(index-1).transform.position.valueAtTime(time-0.5) + value
The expression works on layer index, so each shape will follow the layer above it in the timeline.
I added value in the end, so that you would be able to edit and animate the position of each shape individually as well.
Subtract the value from that, which you want each shape to delay from the previous one.Ashish Gupta
