Multiple Shapes With Defined different colours along a path
Hi
I would like to know how to make a series of circles move along a path with each circle following the circle in front of it at an equal speed/rate. I looked this up but the approaches I found were using either an expression or echo effect. The problem with these approaches is that I have no ability to define the colours of the circles. Also the echo effect has a delayed rate of speed.
The solution I’m looking for would preferably have each circle individually animatable because I want the circles to snap to the path shape from a previous scene.
This image shows a series of coloured circles along a polygon path which I would like to animate. (the final product wouldn’t have the circles overlapping and would be a bit neater.)
any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

You can try using a valueAtTime() expression in the position of all the shapes that you want following your main shape.
The Expression would be somewhat like this:
thisComp.layer(index-1).transform.position.valueAtTime(time-0.5) + value
The expression works on layer index, so each shape will follow the layer above it in the timeline.
I added value in the end, so that you would be able to edit and animate the position of each shape individually as well.
Subtract the value from that, which you want each shape to delay from the previous one.Ashish Gupta

Oops my bad,
1. I added the (value) at the end of the expression so that you can control the individual values of shapes as well.
2. For controlling the delay in time you can change the value from 0.5 to anything that you want.

Thanks, but this started happening
The shapes started to go off the path the longer the animation was.
