But is there a way to have the video tracks laid out on a timeline based on their original recording time? That is, just the spacing of the footage? That in and of itself would help with the sound sync (even with Plural Eyes)

Do you use Audio Hijack Pro as your meter, or have that send the audio signal to another program? If so, I’d be interested in hearing what software you use for that.

To understand, VU and dbfs are interchangeable terms (for my purposes)?

Is it always a direct correlation? So then +2dbu would be -18dbfs and +6 would be -14dbfs?

That was my initial thought, but it happens regardless of the length of the clip and how much of a handle it has. I’m using a 12 frame transition and placing the fadein/fadeout transition to end on a 2 second segment of 30 second clip, so there’s more than enough material there.

Good idea. Thanks. I just wasn’t sure if doing that would somehow be pushing colors out of a safe zone or making the image too muddy. But I guess that’s just a matter of looking and deciding.

Thanks for the suggestions. After fooling around with FCP a bit I figured out one of the fisheye effect plugins I have allows you to adjust the fisheye effect radius and allows for negative curvature. It looks pretty good.

If I’m scrapping the idea of shooting the city in the background, would a Litepanels 1X1 5600 Degree Flood Panel work for my key light, using some reflectors for this and the natural light as fill light?
