Fisheye effect removal/correction?
Posted by Arturo Glass on August 6, 2010 at 6:40 amDoes anyone know of a plug-in or way of removing, or at least reducing, the distortion created by a fisheye lens? I’m using FCP 7.0.2.

August 6, 2010 at 7:59 amTry giving it a “poke” (Video Filters > Distort > Poke) … but I’m guessing it won’t be too pretty even with some correction

August 6, 2010 at 1:43 pmIn AE I think you do this with camera projection. How you generate the concave disk, I dunno, I’m not an AE guy. I could do it in Lightwave, I think, just projecting the video onto a properly shaped hemispheric concave solid.

August 6, 2010 at 10:12 pmThanks for the suggestions. After fooling around with FCP a bit I figured out one of the fisheye effect plugins I have allows you to adjust the fisheye effect radius and allows for negative curvature. It looks pretty good.
