This was announced last year at NAB, I think, and now expected to ship in the 3rd or 4th quarter of this year. Sony has made noises of something similar. IMO, it’s very timely.

Simple advice:
Do a complete backup of your system (I use Carbon Copy Cloner), then do an “erase and install”. This will format your hard drive and install everything from scratch. Run System Update a couple of times till you’re completely up to date, then install your applications, run the updaters, etc.
Make sure you have plenty of coffee, beer, whisky, whatever on hand.

When you open the L&C window, you’ll notice that there’s a bunch of empty text fields on the right hand side. First is reel name or number, next is clip name, etc.
If you consult your manual, it will tell you how to use these fields to do what you want plus add additional information for your edit.

In the future, you would do this as you log your tape, before you capture it. If you’re working with tapeless media, Log & Transfer will allow you to break up each clip in segments before copying it into FCP.

How does it look on your calibrated broadcast monitor? What do your video scopes say? If it’s “milky” it sounds like you’ve lifted your blacks. You need to keep some blacks at 0 IRE while lifting the mids.

Has any one made an offer on your film and asked for a 720P60 version of your film? I’d be kind of surprised to hear that they did. Most distributors would ask for a 1080P24 master. And many of them would reject a version that had obviously been bumped up from Beta.
Your best bet would be to try and retrieve your negative and take an EDL to a telecine session to get a 1080 transfer made.
