That’s your answer right there. Most likely the lab that did the telecine ran the film through it at 23.98 fps, which is the standard speed for this type of transfer.
Why did you shoot film at 25fps if you’re editing in NTSC?

I used to do these in After Effects or directly in FCP. Since I got Motion, I’ve done dozens of these slide shows, and I think Motion is the best for this. Simply use the automatic keyframing and position the picture once at the head & again at the tail. Put all of the odd # pics in one layer & all of the even # in another so that they overlap & when you’re done you can simply add the fade in fade out behavior to all the pics in one of those layers.

Personally, I think that one of the great beauties of tapeless work flow is that each shot is a unique clip. No need to shuttle through a tape to find the head and tail of a shot, or the next slate to log it. To each his own.

Since you already have a relationship with ITV in Leeds, it makes more sense for you to start there. If you can get an entry level job for a year, or even an internship there for a few more months, it will help you to land a job in London later.

Amen! I just put together a 3.5 TB RAID 5 array for around $2500. And it won’t go to sleep like FW drives often do, which drives me batty.

First, you should start with how you capture your footage & name your project files. You should save & name your project file before you actually log any tapes or capture any footage. That way, FCP will create a folder with the project name & you’ll be able to locate that folder much more easily. And you should log your footage before capturing, & use meaningful names for each clip. If you capture whole tape rolls & subclip them, then the files on disk are still named after the master clip, not the sublicps.
The better organized you are when you start a project the better the chance you have later of finding something when you need to!

Not sure if this would work like I think, but:
1- Put the BG on top of the FG. That’s right, we’re working backwards!
2- set the composite mode of the BG to “Track Matte Alpha”
3- Use the Gaussan Blur to blur only the alpha of the GB layer.Arnie

Dual link is only 1 of 3 different SDI standards, each described by SMPTE. There is also a specific SD standard. The Kona 3 can provide all 3 types of SDI in and out, and will also cross convert between them.

You can also use the batch export from FCP to do this, or simply send the clips into Compressor. If you want matching TC on the clips, though, I think you need to use the Batch export.
