try to decide if I should use Motion for a project
twice a year I do a project which requires me to apply slow zooms on about 500 digital stills. In the past I’ve done it in AfterEffect and have gotten quite efficient. But I’m always looking for a faster easier way. I was intriged by Motion after taking the first two tutorials during some downtime recently. If anybody has experience with a similar project and would like to offer advice, it would be much appreciated, as I will be starting to animate the stills very soon.

I do alot of the same thing. After Effect’s is better for this type of project.

I used to do these in After Effects or directly in FCP. Since I got Motion, I’ve done dozens of these slide shows, and I think Motion is the best for this. Simply use the automatic keyframing and position the picture once at the head & again at the tail. Put all of the odd # pics in one layer & all of the even # in another so that they overlap & when you’re done you can simply add the fade in fade out behavior to all the pics in one of those layers.
