Check to see if the file has a separate alpha channel. If it does, delete the alpha & then try to import the .psd into FCP.

Listen, this cross grade was available for something like 6 or 8 months. It was widely publicized. It was even extended. I just don’t see what kind of assistance you think you might find here.

For RAID 5 to SATA, you have 3 options, ATTO ExpressSAS (also does SATA), 3Ware Side Car or Highpoint RocketRaid. All of these are available for PCIe (if you have a Mac Pro or G5 Quad). If you need PCI-X for a G5, then there’s the ATTO or Highpoint cards, and I think DatOptic may make a card for PCI-X.

That’s not the same. You mus see it on a video monitor, at video resolution in video color space.

I don’t really bother with that extra step. Either I bring the square pixel comp into my FCP timeline & render it there, or I export it as DVCPro HD. I haven’t had any problems with the square to anamorphic pixel change.

When previewing through my Kona, Motion always seems to be sending out square pixels, so your anamorphic comp looks squished. My workaround is to make my comp a square pixel, 16X9 comp at either 1280X720 or 1920X1080, and work that way.

You should follow the spec & make sure that no peak exceeds -6dB. That means you need to check your audio levels across your whole show, and look at the peaks. If any one peak is too high, you can lower the audio at that spot. If you have a lot of audio peaks above -6, then you might want to lower the volume across the whole show.

As someone who does a lot of work in Motion, I have to agree. you can do a lot to the same things as AE, you can doe some things AE can’t, but Motion can’t do a bunch of things that AE does, or at least not as well as AE does them.
OTOH, few things are as easy as lassoing a bunch of clips, right clicking & choosing “Send to Motion”.

I find that is often the case with pretty much anything. I rarely install drivers from the disks that come included, I usually visit the maker’s website to get the latest drivers there. PCIe cards, printers, whatever- may have been packaged weeks or months earlier, and manufacturers may (should?) be working to constantly refine the drivers.

Maybe I’m misreading your description, but it sounds more like like a split slide or push than like a wipe.
