This is the kind of thing I run throught Compressor. In the filters tab, turn on delinterlace & set it to blur. That will blend the 2 fields together so that your not throwing away as much resolution.

720 cannot be recorded in DV 50. DV50 is a standard def codec, & 720 is High def and 16X9 naitive. That said, if you shoot in 24PN mode, your 720 files will be about the same size as DV50 files.

Yup, that’s what I do. I use gaussan blur to soften the mattes in Conduit & gamma correction to choke them. It has pretty good spill suppression, though.

That was pretty darn close to what my reaction was the 1st time I did paint out a mike boom!
If they could combine the best features of Motion & Shake with the nodal workflow & easily accessible timeline, they’d really have a killer app!

I’ve used Conduit in both Motion & FCP. It’s pretty good. You need to build a key using several nodes, & there’s no matte choker. But you can, if you want, create your entire composite within just this one filter.

Funny, I have exactly the opposite problem. I try to use FCP keyboard & mouse commands in AE!

It sounds to me like you’re not monitoring your video & audio from the same source. Trashing preferences may have removed whatever offest or setting you were using before. Please refer to your FCP manual to see how to properly connect your speakers & video monitor.

Check your deck control settings. It should be set to one of the Kona RS-422 presets.

I sent in my disks last summer, so I think it’s perfectly fair of them to eventually end a promotion that was never intended to be permanent. BTW, I copied my disks 1st, & sent in the originals, so if there was a problem in the meantime, I could still have re-installed everything.
